We are a group of students from Colby College in Waterville , Maine . 
During the month of January, Colby College offers JanPlan; students take one
course and focus their work and study on this course exclusively.  We are
enrolled in Art 293, Asian Art Museum Workshop, taught by Ankeney Weitz.

        Recently, Colby Collectors lent a collection of Chinese tomb art to the
Colby College Art Museum .  The collection, called the Colville Collection,
consists of nearly forty objects from the Neolithic Period through the twelfth
century. Our JanPlan class created this online exhibit to showcase the objects,
and we arranged them within several themes to highlight intriguing aspects of
several pieces.  We hope this exhibit will help to educate visitors about tomb
art and burial practices of China and foster a greater understanding of Chinese
culture in general.
