Coverage of Topics and Study Notes:

Beginning with this chapter, the text has been reorganized in the 5th edition.  Chapter 24 now includes three related but important topics:  Normal Galaxies, Hubbles Law, and Active Galaxies.  The coverage and its order are quite sensible.  We'll cover virtually the whole chapter, but we won't cover More Precisely 24-1 unless a question about large redshifts comes up in class.

Note that you should know how to use the equation for Hubble's Law.
