WATERVILLE, Maine — Colby College graduate Jim Begin ’67, who has been a head coach and an assistant coach for the Mules’ tennis programs in the past, will be honored Friday, Aug. 10, when Waterville’s North Street tennis courts are named in his honor.
The Jim Begin Recreational Tennis Courts will be the new name of the beautiful courts on North Street. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be a formal presentation for Begin at 1:30 p.m. and then a barbecue lunch will be provided by the Waterville High School Athletic Department. Tennis matches also will be held in a scramble format.
Begin has been a head coach for the Waterville High teams and has been an instructor for many tennis players in the local community.
