WATERVILLE, Maine — Brittany Reardon (Thayer Academy/Scituate, Mass.) of the Colby College women’s outdoor track and field team was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Performer of the Week after breaking her own school record in the pole vault and also winning the 100-meter hurdles at Fitchburg State’s Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational on Saturday.
Reardon, a junior, scored 21 individual points and helped a relay team score another eight, lifting the Mules to a second-place finish at the 15-team meet.
Reardon had a leap of 11-feet, 8-inches in break her old pole vault record of 11-7. She also easily won the 100 hurdles in 16.42. Reardon scored her other individual point by placing eighth in the 200 meter dash (28.51). Colby’s 400 relay team of Brittney Bell, Reardon, Emily Tolman, and Robin Doroff took second in 50.90.
