Colby volleyball wins first game in tourney
WATERVILLE, MAINE --
Junior setter Kimberly Prescott (Los Alamitos/Buena Park, Calif.) had 22 assists and nine service aces in leading the Colby College volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Suffolk University in the first day of the Colby Invitational at Wadsworth Gymnasium on Friday night.
The Mules won 30-13, 30-11, 30-12, and have not given up a game in their first two matches.
First-year outside hitter Megan Devlin (Branford/Branford, Conn.) had seven kills for Colby. Junior captain Alyssa Henley (St. George's/Spokane, Wash.) and Abbey Stella (Westfield/Westfield, Mass.) both had six kills.
Colby (2-0) will play three matches on Saturday, starting with a 10 a.m. contest with University of Maine-Machias. The Mules then meet Gordon College at 2 p.m. in what could be their toughest test of the tourney and then finish with Unity College at 4 p.m.
