Colby volleyball has 2-2 weekend

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. --

The Colby College volleyball team reached 20 wins on the season by going 2-2 at the Hall of Fame Tournament at Smith College and Amherst College in action Saturday and Friday night.

The Mules (20-9) had victories over Smith College (3-2 --- 27-30, 30-28, 27-30, 32-30, 15-10) and Wheaton College (3-0 30-26, 30-26, 30-27). Colby lost matches to Williams College (3-1 --- 25-30, 30-23, 33-31, 30-14) and Amherst College (3-0 --- 30-22, 30-22, 30-27).

Cait Cleaver (Unionville/Kennett Square, Pa.) had 25 kills and 10 defensive digs in the victory over Smith. Alyssa Henley (St. George's/Spokane, Wash.) added 19 kills, Jennifer Radcliffe (South Eugene/Eugene, Ore.) had a collegiate-high 11 kills, and setter Kimberly Prescott (Los Alamitos/Buena Park, Calif.) had 64 assists.

In the victory against Wheaton, Cleaver had 11 kills and Henley added nine kills. Abbey Stella (Westfield/Westfield, Mass.) had six blocks and five kills and Laurel Burnham (Gilbraltar/Baileys Harbor, Wis.) had 16 digs.

Prescott had 37 assists and four service aces in the loss to Amherst. Cleaver had 14 kills and Henley and Johanna Schroeder (Salmon/Salmon, Idaho) both had 10 kills. Stella had six kills and four blocks.

Stella had 12 kills and six blocks in the match against Williams. Cleaver and Henley both had 11 kills, Prescott had 43 assists and Burnham had 19 digs.
