Colby field hockey falls to Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. --

Abby Ouimet scored unassisted in the first half and that goal stood up as the Amherst College field hockey team took a 1-0 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Saturday.

The Jeffs (4-6, 1-4) had a 19-4 advantage in shots and a 19-8 margin in penalty corners. Colby goaltender Carrie Morin (Cony/Augusta, Maine) stopped six shots. Anne McMullin had four stops for Amherst.

The Mules will host Southern Maine in a non-conference game Wednesday at 3 p.m.
