Colby men's soccer falls to Tufts in overtime
MEDFORD, Mass. --
Colby College senior defender Michael Jarcho (Hamilton/Hamilton, N.Y.) scored in the 89th minute to tie the game, but Tufts University got the overtime goal for a 3-2 New England Small College Athletic Conference win Saturday.
The Mules end the season at 6-8 overall, while Tufts improves to 9-4-1.
The Jumbos went ahead 2-1 in the 85th minute when Matt MacGregor scored off an assist from Brett Wong. After Jarcho's unassisted goal, David Delvea scored in the 104th minute for the game-winning goal.
The teams played a scoreless first half until Tufts' Wong scored in the 57th minute. Colby quickly tied the game four minutes later when Ryan Boccuzzi (E.O. Smith/Storrs, Conn.) had an unassisted goal. The goal was his first of the season to go along with a team-high six assists.
Senior goalkeeper Andrew Danziger (Mercerburg/Frederick, Md.) made seven saves for Colby.
