Colby baseball finishes Florida trip with 2-1 Friday
FORT MYERS, Fla. --
Dan Deacon (Rumford, R.I.) tossed his second complete game shutout of the Florida spring trip as the Colby College baseball team took a 7-0 victory over Bethel College in the first of three games Friday.
The Mules scored nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull out a 13-7 win against Lawrence University in the second game. Colby fell 6-3 to a strong Mount Mercy squad in the final game of the trip Friday night.
Deacon, who blanked Coe College at the start of the week, will take a 0.00 earned run average back to Maine.
Phil Geiger got the other two wins for Colby (4-3-1) on its Florida trip. He earned the win in relief when the Mules exploded for nine runs in the seventh.
