Colby baseball shuts out Thomas, 3-0
WATERVILLE, Maine --
Owen Kenney (West Chatham, Mass.) pitched a complete game and Colby College got all the runs it would need in the third inning to take a 3-0 victory over Thomas College in a baseball battle of local rivals Thursday at Coombs Field.
Kenney, a senior right-hander, scattered eight hits over nine innings while striking out two and walking two.
The Mules (5-5-1) used three hits, a walk and took advantage of one error to score three runs in the third inning. Tyler Hales (Lexington, Mass.) had an RBI single in the inning and led Colby with a pair of hits.
Kevin Brunelle (Augusta, Maine) and Dan Deacon (Rumford, R.I.) both had one hit and one run scored for the winners. Eric Roy (Lisbon Falls, Maine) doubled and walked for Colby.
Sean Brawn (Augusta, Maine) led Thomas with two hits.
Colby has a schedule change for this weekend. The Mules were originally set to play at Trinity College on Friday. Colby will now play one game with Trinity on Saturday at 3 p.m. and then play two games against the Bantams on Sunday at noon.
