Colby baseball falls to St. Joseph's, 4-1
WATERVILLE, Maine --
St. Joseph's left-hander Greg Kimball (Lebanon, Maine) pitched a complete game to power the Monks to a 4-1 non-conference victory over Colby College in baseball Monday at Coombs Field.
Kimball worked all nine innings and struck out five and walked none.
Andy Exley (Portland, Maine) had a pair of hits and scored the first run of the game in the first inning for St. Joseph's (10-12). Ben Muniz (Readfield, Maine) doubled, walked and had one run for the winners.
Colby (5-9-1) wasted a good outing by junior pitcher Phil Geiger (Rye Brook, N.Y.), who went 8 1/3 innings and allowed just one earned run while striking out two and walking one.
Jared Cushman (Augusta, Maine) singled and had the lone Mule run. Rodney Ames (Cotuit, Mass.) and Brandon Royce (Augusta, Maine) each doubled for Colby.
The Mules will play a non-conference game at Husson at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
