Colby baseball holds off Husson, 6-4
BANGOR, Maine --
Kevin Brunelle (Cony/Augusta, Maine) went 4-for-5 with four RBI to power the Colby College baseball team to a 6-4 victory over Husson College in a non-conference game Tuesday.
The Mules got solid pitching outings from senior right-hander Owen Kenney (Tabor/W. Chatham, Mass.) and first-year right-hander Robert Jacobs (University School/Mequon, Wisc.). Kenney pitched the first five innings and allowed just one run in improving to 2-1 this season. Jacobs, making his collegiate debut, worked the next three innings and gave up just two hits while striking out three.
Colby (6-9-1) held a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth inning, but Husson fought back with three runs.
B.L. Lippert (Cony/Augusta, Maine) added two hits and Tyler Silvestro (Fairfield/Fairfield, Conn.) had an RBI single for the Mules.
Jason Folsom led Husson with three hits.
Colby will play host to Bates College in a conference game this Friday at 3:30 p.m.
