USM baseball gets past Mules
GORHAM, Maine --
The Colby College baseball team got a pair of hits from Matt Gibson and Vincent Domestico, but the Mules lost 8-2 to University of Southern Maine in non-conference play Thursday.
Southern Maine (23-13) only led 1-0 through four innings, but the Huskies used four hits in the fifth inning to score four runs to pull away.
Rodney Ames had a double for the Mules and Kevin Brunelle had an RBI single.
Colby (8-16-1) will play host to Bowdoin College in a doubleheader starting at noon Saturday. The Mules then close out the season with two games against Williams College starting at 1 p.m. (new time) Sunday.
