Colby men's basketball goes overtime to beat Bowdoin
BRUNSWICK, Maine --
Patrick McGowan (North Attleboro/North Attleboro, Mass.) had 31 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals while playing 47 minutes in Colby College's 95-91 victory over Bowdoin College in men's basketball Tuesday night.
McGowan was 10-for-17 from the field, including a 6-for-7 effort from 3-point range. He was also 5-for-5 from the foul line.
Senior forward Kevin Crosman (Morse/Bath, Maine), the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week last week, had 26 points and six rebounds for the Mules. Michael Westbrooks (Berkshire/Dublin, Ireland) added 14 points and junior co-captain Matt Forlizzi (St. John's Prep/Danvers, Mass.) came off the bench with 10 points. Nick Loukes (Bangor/Glenburn, Maine), the other captain, had nine points, five rebounds and five assists.
Bowdoin, which shot 55 percent from the field, got 26 points from Danny Ginn.
Colby, now 4-6 and winners of three straight games, will play host to Maine Maritime at Wadsworth Gymnasium on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
