Bowdoin women's tennis team tops Colby
WATERVILLE, MAINE --
The Colby College women's tennis team got a win Wednesday from senior Britt Palmedo (Deerfield/Ketchum, Idaho) in her return to singles play, but the Mules fell 6-3 to Bowdoin College.
Palmedo, who has battled injury problems and has only played doubles this season, lost 6-3 in the opening set of the second singles match to Bowdoin's Paulette Hricko (Dover-Sherborn/Dover, Mass.). Palmedo battled back for 7-5 and 6-0 wins in the final two sets to pull out the match.
Sophomore Christina Pluta (Mercer/Mercer Island, Wash.) won at fourth singles for Colby (3-3) and also teamed up with senior Caren Harris (Germantown/Fairview Village, Pa.) for a win at second doubles.
