Hobart, Planas lead Colby golf team
WATERVILLE, MAINE --
Senior captain Jake Hobart (Poway/Poway, Calif.) and first-year golfer Stephen Planas (Rockland District/Rockland, Maine) combined for a score of 77 Sunday for the Colby College golf team at the Colby Classic Golf Tournament at the Waterville Country Club.
The Mules finished in fourth place with a 158 score in the five-team tournament. Bowdoin won the tourney with a score of 147.
Modified scoring was used with the first six holes best ball, the middle six holes alternate shot and the final six holes with a scramble format.
Greg Dupuy (Northern Highlands/Allendale, N.J.) and Bill Younker (Shrewsbury/Chatham, Mass.) had an 81 for Colby. Justin Ossolinski (Sumner/Gouldsboro, Maine) and David Salmon (Noble & Greenough/Sherborn, Mass.) combined for an 83.
