Colby field hockey beats Camels
WATERVILLE, MAINE --
Sophomore forward Wendy Bonner (Lexington/Lexington, Mass.) scored both goals as the Colby College field hockey team won 2-0 over Connecticut College in an important New England Small College Athletic Conference game Saturday at Crafts Field.
The Mules moved to 7-4 overall and 3-4 in NESCAC play. Colby is battling for a spot in the seven-team NESCAC Championship field.
Bonner, who had a goal in each half, now has nine goals for 18 points this season. Senior captain Jenn Brenneman (Kent Dover School/Denver, Colo.) and sophomore forward Adrienne LeClair (Masconomet/Boxford, Mass.) had assists on the goals.
Senior goaltender Carrie Morin (Cony/Augusta, Maine) made three saves for her fourth shutout of the season.
Colby plays a non-conference game at St. JosephÍs at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
