Colby men's hockey topples Mass. College
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. --
Cory Ernst and Brian Chisholm each had one goal and one assist as the Colby College men's hockey team captured a 4-1 victory over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Friday night.
The Mules, who have still not played a regular season home game, moved to 4-1 overall. Colby finishes the first semester of play at Skidmore College in a 3 p.m. game Saturday.
Jean Francois Auffrey, who had two goals against the U.S. Under-18 National Team last Sunday, scored his first regular season goal off assists from Ernst and Joel Morash with 2:51 left in the opening period for a 1-0 lead at the break.
Ernst scored from Nate Stanglein at the 9:16 mark of the second period to give the Mules some breathing room. Brian Chisholm made it 3-0 with one minute left in the second period off assists from Ross MacMillan and senior captain Brock Barton.
Matt Kasberg got his first goal of the year for Colby from Chisholm and Eric Molander with about 14 minutes left in the game.
Chris Ries stopped 17 shots in goal for the Mules.
