Babson men's basketball downs Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine --

Junior guard Jeff Hines (Waltham/Waltham, Mass.) had 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead the Babson College men's basketball team to a 74-60 victory over Colby College in non-conference play Tuesday.

Babson (3-0) used tough half-court defensive pressure to open up a 41-24 lead at halftime. The Mules (1-2) got as close as nine points in the second half.

Sophomore guards Jared Cushman (Cony/Augusta, Maine) and Patrick McGowan (North Attleboro/Attleboro, Mass.) each had 14 points to lead the Mules. First-year forward Michael Westbrooks (Berkshire School/Dublin, Ireland) added 13 points and seven rebounds for Colby. Senior forward Kevin Crosman (Morse/Bath, Maine) had six points and six rebounds.

The Mules are off until a non-league game at Colby-Sawyer on Thursday, December 5.
