Men's lacrosse opens season with victory
BRUNSWICK, Maine --
The 20th-ranked Colby College men's lacrosse team got the season off to a good start with a 13-3 non-conference victory over Plymouth State College on Saturday at Bowdoin College.
Colby senior midfielder Trenholm Boggs (Potomac/Arlington, Va.) had four goals and one assist and first-year attacker Troy Lieberman (Andover/Andover, Mass.) also had four goals.
The Mules only led 1-0 after the first quarter, but had six goals in the second period to take control and had a 7-0 lead at intermission.
Junior attacker Joshua Cleaver (Unionville/Kennett Square, Pa.) added three goals and one assist, while sophomore midfielder Eric Seidel (Choate Rosemary/Durham, N.H.) had a goal and two assists. Barron Butler (Middlesex/Marblehead, Mass.) had a goal and an assist and first-year attacker Pete Lagos (Bow/Bow, N.H.) had two assists.
Colby had three goalies combine for 13 saves.
