Rankin, Garcia, Hollett earn 7th place finishes

BOSTON, Mass. --

Lee Rankin (Riverside, R.I.), Xavier Garcia (Stoneham, Mass.) and Ryan Hollett (Bedford, Nova Scotia) all had seventh-place finishes for Colby College at the New England Men's Track and Field Championships at Boston University on Saturday.

Rankin took seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 55 feet, 4.25 inches. The Colby men were competing against Division I, II and III athletes at the New England meet.

Garcia was seventh in the triple jump (44-9) and also placed ninth in the 400 meters (49.63 final, 48.69 prelim) in helping the Mules earn six points and finish in a tie for 20th place overall in the 31-team field.

Hollett got the other two points for Colby with a 6.71 finish in the 55 dash in taking seventh place. He had a 6.70 in a semifinal race.
