North Central holds off Colby softball
FORT MYERS, Fla. --
The Colby College softball team continued to have problems scoring runs in falling 3-1 to North Central College in Florida on Wednesday morning.
The Mules (1-4) have scored just two runs in the last three games. However, Colby is hitting the ball so far this season. The Mules have out-hit all five of their opponents.
Shannon Emerson (Gleneig/West Friendship, Md.) doubled and tripled for Colby, which had seven hits. Kate Hurd (Greely/Cumberland, Maine) added two hits and the Mules' lone RBI.
Lauren Olmsted (Lexington/Lexington, Mass.) pitched a complete game for Colby and was not charged with an earned run.
Colby will play two games against Middlebury College on Thursday at 1 and 4 p.m. The Florida trip will finish on Friday when the Mules meet local rival Thomas College at 9 a.m. and then Lawrence College at 11 a.m.
