Women's tennis earns a split; men fall
BOSTON (area), Mass. --
Sara Hughes improved to 19-11 on the season by winning one singles match and taking two doubles victories for the Colby College women's tennis team in a 7-2 victory over MIT and a 6-3 loss to Brandeis on Saturday and Sunday.
Hughes and doubles teammate Britt Palmedo are 11-5 in first doubles this season.
Caren Harris, Christina Pluta and Ginny Raho also won singles matches against MIT. Raho had the lone singles win against Brandeis.
In men's tennis, John McManigal won at second singles for the Colby men in a 7-2 loss to Brandeis on Sunday.
