Colby tennis teams beat Oberlin, lose matches Thursday

HILTON HEAD, S.C. --

Sara Hughes (Burlington/South Burlington, Vt.) won for the 25th time this season with a singles and doubles victory in Colby College's 6-3 victory over Oberlin College in women's tennis in Hilton Head on Friday.

Hughes, who joined forces with Caren Harris (Germantown/Fairview Village, Pa.) to win at first doubles, is 25-11 this season with a 15-5 record in doubles.

Christina Pluta (Mercer/Mercer Island, Wash.), Ginny Raho (Lincoln School/Providence, R.I.) and Anna Erdheim (Poly Prep Country Day/New York, N.Y.) also won singles matches for the Mules (7-6). Pluta and Nikki Patel (Westminster/Avon, Conn.) took the third doubles match.
