Colby women's tennis drops opener
MEDFORD, Mass. -
Sara Hughes (Burlington/South Burlington, Vt.) lost a tough match at first singles for the Colby College women's tennis team in a 9-0 season opener loss to Tufts University on Saturday.
Hughes, a sophomore, took a 6-2 win in the first set against Jennifer Lejb. The Tufts first singles player battled back for 7-5 and 6-3 wins in the next two sets to take the match.
Colby (0-1) lost all of the other singles matches in straight sets. The Mules will be at ITA Regional play at Williams College this weekend.
