Colby volleyball sweeps past Bowdoin
BRUNSWICK, MAINE --
First-year outside hitter Cait Cleaver (Unionville/Kennett Square, Pa.) had 12 kills, seven service aces and 10 defensive digs in leading the Colby College volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Bowdoin College on Wednesday night.
The Mules, now 8-2 this season and winners of four straight matches, won 30-17, 30-26, 32-30.
Junior Johanna Schroeder (Salmon/Salmon, Idaho) had eight kills and three blocks, while junior middle blocker Abbey Stella (Westfield/Westfield, Mass.) finished with six kills and three blocks. Kimberly Prescott (Los Alamitos/Buena Park, Calif.), the NESCAC Player of the Week last week, had 25 assists and four service aces.
Colby got solid defensive games from first-year player Jennifer Radcliffe (South Eugene/Eugene, Ore.), who had a team-high 17 digs and the Mules also got four blocks from junior captain Alyssa Henley (St. George's/Spokane, Wash.).
Colby will play in the Brandeis Invitational this Friday and Saturday.
