Bates volleyball gets past Colby
WATERVILLE, MAINE --
Bates College won three close games in taking a 32-30, 30-24, 30-27 victory over Colby College in volleyball at Wadsworth Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
Junior setter Kimberly Prescott (Los Alamitos/Buena Park, Calif.) led Colby (4-2) with 24 assists and 10 defensive digs. Junior middle blocker Johanna Schroeder (Salmon/Salmon, Idaho) had nine kills for the Mules.
First-year outside hitter Cait Cleaver (Unionville/Kennett Square, Pa.) added six kills and 12 digs for Colby. Junior captain Alyssa Henley (St. George's/Spokane, Wash.) had six kills and Megan Devlin (Branford/Brandford, Conn.) had 13 digs.
Colby will play in a NESCAC Weekend Tournament at Hamilton College this Friday and Saturday. Bates (3-2) will also make the trip to Hamilton College for the tourney.
