Women's basketball team beats up Middlebury

WATERVILLE, Maine --

Sophomore forward Wendy Bonner (Lexington/Lexington, Mass.) had 18 points and eight rebounds to lift the Colby College women's basketball team to a 77-60 New England Small College Athletic Conference victory over Middlebury College on Friday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

The Mules (13-4, 4-1 NESCAC) also got 15 points, six rebounds and five assists from senior point guard Bianca Belcher (Lewiston/Lewiston, Maine). Sarah Walsh (Seton Keough/Catonsville, Md.) added 14 points and six rebounds, while Caitlin Bourque (North Middlesex/Townsend, Mass.) came off the bench with 10 points and five boards. Cassie Green (Biddeford/Biddeford, Maine), a first-year player, was 2-for-2 from the field and 3-for-3 from the line for seven points for Colby.

Wesley Hyatt (Phillips Exeter/Amesbury, Mass.) had 11 points for Middlebury (9-7, 2-2).

Colby will play host to Williams College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
