Senior point guard Bianca Belcher (Lewiston/Lewiston, Maine) had 17 points, including 8-for-8 from the foul line, and added eight assists to lead Colby.
The Mules improved to 14-4 overall and 5-1 in the NESCAC, good for second place behind league leader Bowdoin (6-0). Wesleyan (4-1) is the other team with one loss. Colby still has league games --- all at home --- against Bowdoin, Bates and Tufts.
Sophomore forward Wendy Bonner (Lexington/Lexington, Mass.) had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Senior center Sarah Walsh (Seton Keough/Catonsville, Md.) added 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists while seeing limited time because of foul problems. Drea DeAngelo (Sycamore/Cincinnati, Ohio) had 14 points for the Mules.
Williams (13-5, 3-2) got 16 points, six rebounds and four assists from Melissa Skeffington (Woburn, Mass.). Amy Geant (Scarborough, Maine) had 13 points and nine rebounds, while Kerri McMahon (Denville, N.J.) had 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Skeffington's basket with 43 seconds left cut Colby's lead to 59-55. However, Belcher went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final 35 seconds to help the Mules seal the victory.
