Colby women's basketball pounds Thomas

WATERVILLE, Maine --

The Colby College women's basketball team had seven players with seven points or more in cruising to a 71-44 non-conference victory at Thomas College on Sunday.

Sarah Walsh (Catonsville, Md.) finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals for the Mules (8-2). Wendy Bonner (Lexington, Mass.) added eight points and 14 rebounds, while Caitlin Bourque (Townsend, Mass.) finished with 10 points off the bench.

Colby forced 28 Thomas turnovers and held the Terriers to just 22 percent shooting from the field. The Mules led 37-19 at halftime and substituted liberally in the second half.

Sarah Kelly (Portsmouth, N.H.) got her second start of the season for the Mules and finished with nine points, five rebounds and three assists. Alanna Balboni (Rye, N.H.) added eight points and five rebounds, Alicia Burrows (Meredith, N.H.) went 3-for-3 from 3-point range and had nine points and three assists, Christine O'Donnell (Salem, Mass.) had seven assists, and Bianca Belcher (Lewiston, Maine) had seven points and four steals.

Erin Lovely (Oxford, Maine) had 11 points and four steals to pace Thomas.

Colby will play at Bowdoin College at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
