Colby women's lacrosse rips Oberlin
ORLANDO, Fla. --
The Colby College women's lacrosse team ended their trip to Florida with a 23-0 victory over Oberlin College at the Disney Sports Complex on Thursday morning.
The 14th-ranked Mules ended the trip with a 2-1 record and are now 3-2 overall. Colby started the week with a 14-3 win Monday against Oswego and then fell 16-5 to Williams College on Wednesday.
Cara Dionisi (St. Mark's School/Sudbury, Mass.) had three goals and three assists against Oberlin. Julia Benedict (Miss Porter's School/Dover, Mass.) added three goals and two assists, while Ally King (Hall/Hartford, Conn.), Kelsey Neville (Duxbury/Duxbury, Mass.) and Katie Roberts (Pingry School/Chatham, N.J.) all had two goals and one assist. Elizabeth Ghilardi (Norwell/Norwell, Mass.) had one goal and three assists.
Colby goaltender Anna Schierberl Scherr (Berwick Academy/Portsmouth, N.H.) had one save in the first half and then scored her first two collegiate goals in the second half. Sarah Burlingham (Radnor/Radnor, Pa.) also had two goals for the Mules.
Colby plays at second-ranked Amherst at 11 a.m. Saturday.
