WELLESLEY, Mass. --

Colby's Cara Dionisi (Sudbury, Mass.) scored three
goals and Ally King (West Hartford, Conn.) scored two goals and added
three assists to lead the 14th-ranked Mules past Wellesley 13-9 in a
non-conference women's lacrosse tilt Sunday at Wellesley.
Colby held a slim 7-6 lead at the halftime break as Wellesley Grace Tsan
(Alexandria, Va.) kept the Blue in the game scoring all of her team-high
four goals in the first half. Colby raced out to a 4-0 lead to open the
game, before Wellesley rattled off the next three straight.
However, each time Wellesley was within one Colby pushed ahead. Trailing
7-5 with 37 seconds remaining in the first half, Tsan scored her final goal of
the game to put Wellesley within one at 7-6, but it was as close as the
Blue would get the rest of the way as Colby outscored Wellesley 6-3 over
the second half.
Colby's Anna Schierberl Scherr (Portsmouth, N.H.) played well in net for
the Mules recording 11 saves in 60 minutes of action.
