Colby women's soccer beats St. Joseph's
WINDHAM, MAINE --
Christine O'Donnell (Salem/Salem, Mass.) scored all three goals in leading the Colby College women's soccer team to a 3-0 win against St. Joseph's in non-conference play Thursday.
O'Donnell, a senior forward, has 38 goals and nine assists for 85 career points at Colby (4-5). She leads the team this year with seven goals and three assists for 17 points. O'Donnell got her first goal just 2 minutes, 40 seconds into the game off an assist from senior defender Stephanie Hicks (Framingham/Framingham, Mass.). Hicks, a sweeper for the Mules, reached 25 career points with seven goals and 11 assists.
O'Donnell made it 2-0 on an unassisted goal at the 18:30 mark of the first half for a 2-0 halftime lead. She then tallied at 60:45 for the hat trick.
Senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Riley (Thornton Academy/Saco, Maine) made three saves in 81 minutes and junior Ashley Harris (Loomis Chaffee/North Haverill, N.H.) played the final nine minutes in the nets.
Colby plays Saturday at 11 a.m. at Amherst in a NESCAC game.
