Stone named interim head Nordic ski coach
WATERVILLE, Maine --
Timothy Paul Stone will be the interim head coach of Colby College's Nordic ski programs for the 2004-05 academic year.
Stone begins his new job September 15 and ends March 15. Colby head coach Tracey Cote will be on sabbatical leave.
Stone was the head Nordic ski coach at Williams College in 2002-03. He was an assistant coach of the squad from 2000-02 and again in 2003-04.
Stone, who graduated from Dartmouth College in 1999, was an NCAA Division I finalist in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1999. He was a captain for Dartmouth's Nordic ski team during the 1996-97, 1997-98 and 1998-99 academic years.
Stone was a qualifier for the 1994 World Junior Ski Team. A West Anchorage High School graduate, Stone earned high school All-America honors in 1993 and 1994. He was a member of the Alaska Junior National Ski Team from 1992 to 1994.
Besides his coaching duties at Williams, Stone has spent the last five summers as a lab technician in the Department of Theraputic Radiology at the Yale Medical Center.
