The Bowdoin College field hockey team continued to dominate offensively, scoring four more goals in a 4-1 defeat of Colby on Saturday in Brunswick. With the win, the 13th-ranked Polar Bears (10-2) tied a new school record for goals in a season with 42, equalling the school record set in 1999. Bowdoin also reaches double-figures in victories for the 12th straight season.
Marissa O'Neil opened the scoring off a pass from Colleen McDonald at 30:35 of the first half. The goal proved to be the only scoring of the first half as the Polar Bears entered halftime up 1-0. The Polar Bears increased their lead in the second frame when Sarah Horn put home a goal off an assist from O'Neil at 21:16 to make it 2-1. Colby cut the lead to 2-1 at 20:21 when Adrienne LeClair scored her third goal of the season, but Bowdoin poured it on after that as O'Neil and Christi Gannon added goals with under 15 minutes left to clinch the win.
