Golf team second at USM Scramble

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine --

The Colby College golf team finished the season on a strong note by taking second place out of five teams at the University of Southern Maine Scramble at Sable Oaks Golf Club on Friday.

The Colby team of Eric Legere (Danvers, Mass.), Matt Aschaffenburg (Sharon, Mass.), William D. Younker II (Chatham, Mass.), Greg Dupuy (Allendale, N.J.) and Dave Salmon (Sherborn, Mass.) finished with an 11-under par 59 to finish one stroke behind Southern Maine "White" for the title.

Team scores: Southern Maine "White" 58, Colby 59, St. Joseph's 59, Southern Maine "Blue" 62, Bates 62.
