Golf team competes at State meet, NESCAC tourney
The Colby College golf team took seventh place at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships on Sunday and finished eighth at the State of Maine Championship on Friday.
The Mules placed seventh out of 10 teams at the NESCAC meet at Taconic Golf Course in Williamstown, Mass. Hamilton won the tourney with a score of 311.
Greg Dupuy had an 82 at the NESCAC meet to lead the Mules. William D. Younker II carded an 83, while Eric Legere and Dave Salmon both had an 85.
Colby was eighth out of 13 teams at the State of Maine Championship at Riverside Golf Course in Portland. Legere tied for 13th place with a 6-over-par 78. Salmon had an 80, while Younker II and Dupuy both had an 81. Southern Maine won the tourney in a playoff over Husson College after both teams finished with a 307.
