Bowdoin men's basketball downs Colby
WATERVILLE, Maine --
Bowdoin College had four players in double figures and Jon Farmer (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) had nine points, nine rebounds and six assists as the Polar Bears took a 77-55 victory over Colby College in men's basketball Tuesday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
Mark Yakavonis (Barrington, R.I.) led Bowdoin (7-5) with 15 points. Kyle Petrie (Iowa City, Iowa) had 14 points and nine rebounds, Kevin Bradley (Seekonk, Mass.) added 13 points and six assists, and T.J. McLeod (Gorham, Maine) finished with 10 points and four assists.
Bowdoin made 10 of its first 11 shots from the field and shot 60 percent from the field in the opening half in taking a 47-26 margin at the break.
Michael Westbrooks (Dublin, Ireland) led Colby (4-10) with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Patrick McGowan (North Attleboro, Mass.) added 12 points, while Mike Rutherford (Wyckoff, N.J.) had 11 points for the Mules.
Colby will be back in action at second-ranked Amherst College on Friday at 7 p.m. Bowdoin will play at Trinity on Friday at 7 p.m.
