Williams is too muchÊfor Colby men's basketball

WATERVILLE, Maine --

Williams College was 16-for-29 from 3-point range and Tucker Kain (Waite Hill, Ohio) had 21 points to lead the second-ranked Ephs to a 93-69 victory over Colby College in men's basketball Saturday at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

Kain was 5-for-6 from 3-point range in the first half in leading Williams (18-1, 5-0 NESCAC) to a 51-37 lead. Michael Crotty (Belmont, Mass.) added nine points and 11 assists for the winners.

Colby (5-15, 1-5) did keep the game tight for the first 15 minutes of play. The Mules led 28-23 with about eight minutes to play, but Williams went on a 28-9 run to end the half. The Ephs were 11-for-18 from 3-point range in the opening half.

Drew Cohen (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) led Colby with 15 points, five rebounds, three blocked shots and three assists. Patrick McGowan (North Attleboro, Mass.) added 12 points and eight assists.
