Walsh, Bayley named to NESCAC All-Conference ice hockey team
Hartford, Conn. -- Colby defenseman Patrick Walsh (Choate Rosemary Hall/Easton, Conn.) and forward Nick Bayley (Cambridge Winterhawks/Cambridge, Ont.) were named All-Conference ice hockey players in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) on Tuesday.
Walsh, a junior, was named to the first-team. This season he tallied seven goals and 14 assists, and heads a Colby team which ranks third in the NESCAC and 15th in the nation in defensive scoring, allowing 2.58 goals a game. He has 21 goals and 41 assists, for a total of 61 points, through his career at Colby.
Bayley, a first-team selection last year, was named to the second-team for his play this season. He is second in the NESCAC in scoring this season with 35 points, and leads the league in assists with 21. Earlier this year, Bayley was also honored as a National Academic All-American. Bayley has 45 goals and 68 assists for 113 career points in 73 games.
Colby (14-6-4), ranked 15th in the latest USCHO.com national Division III poll, takes on Trinity College at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday in a NESCAC semifinal game at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont.
