Colby men's lacrosse wins league game over Williams
CELEBRATION, Fla. --
The Colby College men's lacrosse team had an enjoyable time in Florida with two wins in two games.
The Mules moved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in New England Small College Athletic Conference play with a 9-7 league win over Williams College on Wednesday.
"Williams had a hard time clearing the ball because we rode them very well," Colby head coach Rob Quinn said. "We also did well in face-offs and won the ground ball battle. It was a good NESCAC win for our guys."
Josh Cleaver (Kennett Square, Pa.) had three goals and two assists in leading Colby. Rory Murphy (Brunswick, Maine) added one goal and two assists, while Matt Roland (Somers, Conn.) finished with two goals. Ryan Glennon (Exeter, N.H.) and Sean Murphy (Ridgefield, Conn.) both had one goal and one assist, Dan Schupack (Cheshire, Conn.) had one goal, and Nick Owens (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) added one assist.
Matt LaPaglia (Upper Montclair, N.J.) had 11 saves in the nets for Colby, which returns to the area for a 1 p.m. game at Babson College on Saturday.
