14th-ranked Tufts men's lacrosse defeats Colby
WATERVILLE, Maine --
Billy Granger (Setauket, N.Y.) had three goals and two assists to lift 14th-ranked Tufts University to a 10-4 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action Saturday.
Tufts improved to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in league play, while Colby dropped to 7-3 and 3-3 in the conference.
The Jumbos took control from the opening quarter by taking a 4-1 lead after the first 15 minutes of play. Both teams scored two goals in the next period, but Tufts added three goals in the third quarter to pull away.
Mark Warner (Wading River, N.Y.) added two goals and one assist for Tufts. Devin Clarke (Ridgewood, N.J.) added a pair of goals and Bryan Griffin (West Islip, N.Y.) had two assists.
Joshua Cleaver (Kennett Square, Pa.) paced Colby with one goal and one assist. Mike Haimes (Old Greenwich, Conn.), Jeff Margulies (Weston, Mass.) and Ryan Glennon (Exeter, N.H.) also tallied for the Mules.
