Men's soccer slips past Southern Maine
WATERVILLE, Maine --
Donnie O'Callaghan (New Canaan/New Canaan, Conn.) scored his first collegiate goal with just over one minute left in the contest to lift the Colby College men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over University of Southern Maine in non-conference play Wednesday.
O'Callaghan tallied with 1:02 remaining off an assist from David Burton Perry (Sidwell Friends/Washington, D.C.) to give the Mules (4-1-1) their ninth straight non-conference win over the past three years.
Ryan Boccuzzi (E.O. Smith/Storrs, Conn.) scored his team-best seventh goal of the season on a penalty kick just a few minutes into the contest.
Ian Frank (Gorham/Gorham, Maine) tied the game at 1-1 for Southern Maine (2-5-2) when he knocked in a direct kick about 27 minutes into the first half.
