Bates squash teams defeat Mules

WATERVILLE, Maine --

Melissa Lue Yen won at the top spot for the Bates College women and Ben Schippers took a tough win at the first position for the Bobcat men as both Bates College squash teams took victories over Colby College on Tuesday night at the Alfond Athletic Center.

The Bates women also got a victory from Kelsey Engman at the second spot in taking a 6-3 victory over the Mules. Gary Kan was a second position winner for the Bates men in an 8-1 win over Colby.

Nikki Patel went five games and fought back from a 2-1 games deficit in winning at the third spot for the Colby women.

Andy Carr posted the lone win for the Colby men with 3-1 victory at the eighth spot.
