Squash teams fall to Bates; Men go 1-4 at Yale

Lewiston, Maine --

Emilie Slack (Villanova, Pa.) and Julia Benedict (Dover, Mass.) each had victories for the Colby College women's squash team in a 7-2 loss to Bates College on Wednesday.

The Colby men fell 9-0 to Bates after going 1-4 this past weekend at the Yale Invitational. The Mules took a 7-2 win over Rochester and fell to Stanford (8-1), Hobart (8-1), Navy (9-0) and Franklin & Marshall (8-1).

Ryan Phelan (Wallingford, Conn.), Amit Gaind (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Todd Basnight (Newton, Mass.) each won two matches at the Yale Invite last weekend.

Both Colby teams will be in action against Brown University on Saturday at Bowdoin College.
