Colby women's squash ends season ranked 12th in nation

NEW HAVEN,Conn. --

The Colby women's squash team defeated Bowdoin, but lost to Bates and Cornell in earning the year-end national ranking of 12th at the Brady Squash Center at Yale University this weekend. Colby was participating in the Kurtz Cup, which determines the final standings of teams ranked 9th through 16th nationally. Colby was ranked 12th entering the tournament. Julia Benedict (Dover, Mass.) won two impressive matches at the fourth position, including an important five-game win against Bowdoin. Emilie Slack (Villanova, Pa.) at the second position was the sole Mule to win her matches against both Bates and Cornell. Jen Barrett (Marion, Mass.) and Rachel Luskin (Scarsdale, N.Y.) also finished the tournament with two victories.
