Ummah earns another ECAC indoor track and field honor

WATERVILLE, Maine --

Colby College's Karima Ummah (Westfield/Litchfield, Maine) was honored for the second consecutive week as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Ummah, a senior, became the first woman to win five individual Maine State Meet Championship titles in a single meet at Bowdoin College last Friday. Ummah set a Maine State Championships record in the triple jump with a winning leap of 37-7.75. She also won the high jump (5-5), long jump (17-6.25), 200-meter run (26.90) and the 55-meter hurdles (8.86).

Ummah, who earned All-America honors last year, has won 16 of the 17 individual events she has entered in four meets.
