WATERVILLE, Maine --

Colby College outside hitter Caitlin Cleaver (Unionville/Kennett Square, Pa.) and senior setter Kimberly Prescott (Los Alamitos/Buena Park, Calif.) were each named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) New England Region Team.

Cleaver and Prescott are the first Colby players in the program's history to earn All-Region honors.

Cleaver, a sophomore, broke the Colby single-season record for kills in a season when she recorded 417 in leading the Mules to a 23-9 record. She has 770 kills in just two years with Colby. Cleaver also was second on the team in defensive digs with 351, second in service aces with 55 and was third in blocks with 57.

Cleaver finished the year ranked second in the NESCAC in kills per game (4.29) and was sixth in service aces per game (0.54). She earned NESCAC first-team honors last month and was conference Rookie of the Year after her first season with the Mules.

Prescott holds nearly every assist and service ace record at Colby. She ended her career ranked first in assists (3,671) and service aces (309) while setting Colby single-season records this year with 1,278 assists and 100 service aces. Prescott was also third on the team in defensive digs with 337.

Prescott led the NESCAC in service aces per game (0.93) and was second in assists per game (11.61). Prescott was on the NESCAC second team.

Cleaver and Prescott helped Colby to a 46-19 record in the last two years.
