Colby women's hockey earns win over Trinity
WATERVILLE, Maine --
The Colby College women's hockey team scored all three of its goals in the final period to take a 3-1 victory over Trinity College at Alfond Arena on Saturday.
The Mules (1-10) had a 44-16 advantage in shots in the game, but Colby could not put a goal past Trinity goalie Mimi MacKinnon (Glen Cove, N.Y.) until the third period.
Colby tied the game at 1-1 when first-year Lindsay Tedeschi (Elkins, N.H.) scored just 53 seconds into the third period off an assist from Sarah Goodrich (Yarmouth, Maine).
Heather DeVito (Arlington, Mass.) scored the eventual game-winning goal unassisted at 7:26 in a short-handed situation. Christina Dotchin (Essex, Vt.) added a power play goal in the final five minutes for Colby.
Elizabeth Johnson (Guilford, Conn.) had a first-period goal for Trinity (1-10). MacKinnon had 41 saves in a losing cause, while Alex Harris (Windsor, Conn.) made 15 stops for Colby.
