Colby women's hockey ties Wesleyan 2-2
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --
The Colby College women's hockey team received goals from Kate Sweeney and Michele Barmash in taking a 2-2 tie with Wesleyan University on Saturday.
Colby needed a victory for a chance at making the New England Small College Athletic Conference Tournament. The Mules finish the season at 4-18-1 and 4-11-1 in the league.
Barmash got her fourth goal of the weekend off an assist from Jennifer McAleer at 8:05 of the opening period. However, Wesleyan (9-13-1) tied the game at 18:05 off a goal by Jenna Bonczewski.
Sweeney tallied the only goal of the second period at 13:12 off another assist by McAleer to give the Mules a 2-1 margin. The Cardinals, though, got the tying goal from Anna Siliciano at 6:00 of the third period.
Alex Harris stopped 18 shots for Colby.
